As for your missing files. Do they still show up in the Firefox downloads
list, accessed from within Firefox by pressing Control-J? I don't recall if
FF uses a different folder than the /users/ [username]/downloads folder to
save downloads, but if it does, maybe it has somehow reverted to its default
setting?

Subject: Firefox Minue Bar

Good Morning,

Somehow I seem to have turned off my menu bar in Firefox. When I hit
the alt key I get the word context but nothing else. When I hit alt B
to go to bookmarks the same thing happens. I'm guessing I've pressed a
function key that turned something off but I'm not sure. Any suggestions
as to how to fix this will be appreciated. I can always uninstall
firefox and reinstall it but I'll lose some things in that process.

While I'm asking questions I have one other. Somehow all my items in
the download folder disappeared night before last. I'm using Window
Eyes 8.4 and Windows 8.0 and I had a number of items in the computer's
downloads folder, especially NLS books and a few program set-up files.
everything simply appears to have disappeared at once and I can't figure
out how. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards,

Bob Martin
