Hi Rod and List
Three further questions, and thanks in advance for your patience.
1. I'm wondering whether 8.4 users can still use the spell checker in the old way and does it function well? I'm impressed with the simplified method from the YouTube clip but some people may like to do things the way they've always done them ... 8.4 users can use spell check by using f7 accept in Outlook 2013 as Microsoft made changes. The interactive spell checker demonstrated in the video has been around sense version 5.0 of Window-eyes.

2. My friend currently owns 7.5.3 but the FAQ says you can't use the office offer if you currently have a paid version. Have I misunderstood?
Uninstall it and install the Window-eyes for office version.

3. He owns DecTalk, will he have to purchase a new licence for that if he takes up the offer. Yes as if you take up the offer for users of microsoft office, you are abandoning your retail license.

Cheers and Thanks
Stephen

    Office 2010

    Hi Stephen,

If your friend's copy of MS Word is part of a fully licenced
Office 2010 or later, they are eligible to use the current version
    of Window-Eyes,, as described at:

    http://www.windoweyesforoffice.com

Be careful of the limitations of this offer, as described in the
FAQ. However, the advantage of the newest version of Window-Eyes,
is the ability to use the improved and simplified spell-check
    process described here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jQLT4032Eg&list=UU_elawv8JA7hIfEIcg61OqQ

     . All the best,

    Rod

    Hello Again Everyone
Thanks for the suggestions about the Google problem.
My colleague is also having trouble in the MS Word spell checker.
Win-Eyes reads out the top line of the document rather than the
controls in the dialog box, and doesn't seem to highlight the
misspelled word. Is there a Window-Eyes setting he needs to tweak?
    Cheers
