Do you have the accessible version installed? If you do, I have no Idea why,
but if you don't, that is why you are having the issues! See below:

In order to use the text-to-speech feature in Kindle for PC, an external
screen reader program must be installed and running on the Windows PC.
Tested screen readers include JAWS, NVDA and Microsoft Narrator.
Interestingly not Window Eyes! I wonder why? Also, we want to hear about

I just installed kindle for pc on my windows 7 computer and made sure I 
have the qt window-eyes ap installed. WhenI try running kindle for pc, 
the program opens but I just get a blank screen. Will this program run 
under windows 7?
