If there is only one attachment, you can turn browse mode off, tab or shift-tab to where it says the attachment’s filename, button, route mouse pointer to that button and right-click it. One of the options will be to open the attachment. But for saving attachments to open later, I use Alt-F, S, A, which opens a dialog box showing the filename or names, folder where they will be saved, a Browse button and a couple of others. WLM remembers where you have saved your attachments from one session to another, so it’s a good idea to check as you are saving them. Hope this helps. I have been running WLM for nearly 3 years on this Windows 7 laptop, with over 22,000 messages stored in perhaps a hundred folders going back to 2005. I don’t try to use threading, conversations, or even the contacts feature all that much. I run a Windows sound scheme that makes a click when a program and a lower-pitched click when a program closes. This can tell you a lot about how long Windows programs are taking to open, close or conduct some other business.
