Thanks, I know about h for headings; was just using control-r to read through
for saving wear and tear on the down-arrow key, which I use often enough. l
for going through by links does the same as you said. Using that and h still
leaves me with, towards the bottom of my screen, it repeatedly saying heading
four, and when going to the next page, still got a message from internet
explorer about autocompleting, which I don’t understand, since what does that
have to do with going to the next page to continue reading my search results?

What’s happening too is that when I add to my wish list (a very valuable thing
for not taking up space on my devices, as you say), when I enter on the link to
take me back to the summary page, I no longer am put back at where I left off,
but am put at the top; I have to page down or whatever to find my place, which
most of the time didn’t happen with windows XP.

And then there’s the autocomplete issue I mentioned in my initial message: I
don’t like things being suggested as I type. Otherwise, didn’t understand why,
when wanting to transition between pages of search results, I’d get an
autocomplete message from internet explorer. When I entered on the link to
read why I was getting the message, I was told how to stop the autocomplete in
internet explorer’s tools, internet options, and content. However, in reading
the internet explorer message, it also said, which I found puzzling, that ‘you
have windows 8 on your computer, but 8.1 is available; the thing is, what I had
installed was windows seven. Some automatic update couldn’t have happened so
that I’m using windows eight, would it? Isn’t there such a radical difference
between it and windows seven that I’d know? I don’t get it!

Thanks for any help.

      Kathy.

Subject: Re: Hi, BARD questions

Headings work very well. For example, let's say you decide to check out the
latest editions to audio books. If you hit the letter H for headings, it will
move you to the first book title. If you hit the letter H again, it takes you
to the second title and announces the name of that book etc. I just use the
down arrow key to quickly read the description of the book. If I'm not
interested, I need not continue reading and just hit the letter H to quickly
move to the next book title.

Lastly, when you hit the letter H for heading and you land on a title you like,
hitting enter on the title will take you to a page where you can then add the
title to your wish list or download it to your iPhone.

It's a very handy app to have and by placing titles on your wish list instead
of downloading them, you have more room on your iPhone unless you have an
iPhone like the 5s with 64 gB of storage, space can be an issue but even a 16
GB phone can hold a few Talking books.

Now if your downloading Braille books to your bard app, you'll have to ask
somebody else for help. I don't bother listening to Braille books and I don't
even know if the bard app uses Voice over to read them for you or if you need a
Braille display. I haven't got a Braille display so can't help with that.

HTH

  Subject: Hi, BARD questions

These didn’t come up in the BARD webinar I listened to. I’m two weeks old
using windows seven, Window Eyes 8.4, and internet explorer 11.

When I used a search term that brought up several pages of results, when I
got towards the bottom of the page I heard repeatedly “heading 4”. This
happened as I had hit control-r to listen to the results, and stop when I
wanted to put on wish list. I couldn’t easily arrow out of the heading 4,
which occurred in the middle of a book description; I wasn’t sure even if I’d
gotten completely through what was on the page, as the download link wasn’t
there (before “heading 4” started. I had to do control home to getoto the top
and get to where I could choose the next page, where this second thing
happened: After I hit ‘go’, instead of resuming at the top of page two I heard
‘learn more about autocomplete, yes / no. I had to tab until I could start
reading results again. I never encountered this in XP. Is there a setting in
either window eyes or internet explorer that I need to adjust?

  Thanks.
        Kathy.
