Hi, First thing we are going to do is set up window-eyes and skype to work together. You don't need to install the skype app, because it is included with window-eyes 8.4. First put skype in to compact view. This is done with alt v o. Now in the skype set file undefined the hot keys for window 1 and 2. Undefined read to end as well. Undefined mouse search. If you would rather not undefined these keys you will be using the buy pass command a lot. Ok now you have things configured so window-eyes and skype should play nice.
Note to the window-eyes team the skype app should work right no matter what view it is in. also the set file for skype should have these keys undefined buy default do to the fact they are used buy skype. Now we have things setup we can talk about using skype. The first thing you do is open the main window. Now you will want to focus the contact list. This is done with alt+1. You can also do this from the view menu. Alt+v c. Arrow threw the list. At the top of this list you will find a drop down button where you can select what contacts are shown. I like mine set to all online. This is because I have my skype connected with my facebook. If they are not online I don't want to see them. So you can change what skype shows here in the contact list buy pressing the space bar. A menu will open pick what contact list you want and press enter. Making calls. To make a call move to the contact you want to call. Press the space bar to select that contact. Now press control r. if you would rather a video call press control shift r. You can perform these action from the call menu as well. Voice call alt+a c. video call alt+a v. You can perform these commands from the context menu as well. Audio call aplacation key followed buy c. video call aplacation key followed buy v. Sending stuff to people the sending options are found in the context menu. Send im. Aplacation followed buy s. send video message context menu key followed buy e. Send sms message aplacations followed buy n. send contacts aplacations followed buy d. Send file aplacations followed buy f. You can also press control shift f. Send voice message aplacations followe buy o. I have directions some where on how to set up hot keys for skype if they are needed this can be done in the options dialog. You should also turn on accessibility mode. Helps with focusing and provides better keyboard access. Just tab to the edit box and then start arrowing down to see all of your contacts. If you have things set up correctly, press enter on the person you want to contact. In a way, it's Sad that Microsoft is doing this. Lots of people liked Skype talking. Yes, even though that was a third party application, some people still liked that. Before GW Connect was released, I used it for a gool long while.
