I’m using remote assistance to work with a desktop computer with an intel dual
core processor, 3 gb of ram running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and window-eyes
8.4. I am installing a good bit of software and getting windows updates as
this computer was recently upgraded from xp. In the course of all this I
managed to create a condition where many but not all of the numpad keys no
longer move the mouse or speak the text under and around the mouse pointer.

I can move to the corners of the screen with numpad 1, 3, 7 and 9. I have
visual verification that the mouse does move to the corners.

I can route the mouse pointer to the control with focus with numpad insert num
pad plus. I can left and right click.

But numpad 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 do not move the mouse pointer nor do they speak at
all. I hear the windows ding sound when I press those keys.
Also, the insert 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 do not speak nor do I get the windows ding
sound when I press them.
Numpad minus does not appear to toggle between the mouse pointer and WE cursor.

I have the latest driver for the graphics adaptor. I am using the windows 7
generic pnp driver for the monitor. The num lock key is off.

I have intel accelerated graphics on this system. The screen was rotated 180
degrees for a while but I fixed that this evening with sighted assistance and
turned off the intel graphics hot keys so it will not happen again.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Do you know what causes it?
Did you resolve the issue?
If so, how?

Many thanks,
George
