Greetings,

Here are more details on my unusual mouse key issue. I want to thank those of
you who offered suggestions when I brought this up the first time around.
I’m working with an HP DC7800 desktop computer.
it has an intel dual core processor, 3 gb of ram running windows 7 ultimate 32
bit with all updates.
We are running window-eyes 8.4. The insert key layout app has been removed.
We have the latest display adaptor driver. The screen resolution is set to 800
X 600 which is the setting Windows recommends.
We are using the windows 7 generic driver for plug and play monitors.
The numlock key is off.
we have a condition where many but not all of the numpad keys no longer move
the mouse or speak the text under and around the mouse pointer.
I can move to the corners of the screen with numpad 1, 3, 7 and 9. I have
visual verification that the mouse does move to the corners.
I can route the mouse pointer to the control with focus with numpad insert num
pad plus. I can left and right click.
But numpad 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 do not move the mouse pointer nor do they speak at
all. I hear the windows ding sound when I press those keys.
Also, the insert 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 do not speak nor do I get the windows ding
sound when I press them.
Numpad minus does not appear to toggle between the mouse pointer and WE cursor.
We uninstalled window-eyes, reinstalled version 8.0 and removed the insert key
layout app right away. The mouse keys worked perfectly.
We ran We82Upgrade.exe and removed the insert key layout app right away. The
mouse keys worked perfectly.
We ran We84Upgrade.exe and removed the insert key layout app right away. The
mouse keys now work as described above, meaning that we can’t move the mouse at
all except to the four corners of the screen.
Nothing at all was done to the system between the reinstall and the two
upgrades except removing the insert key layout app and going to the desktop to
test the mouse keys.
Can anyone offer any suggestions of ways to resolve this issue? I can always
roll the system back to W E 8.2 but 8.4 is so much better that I’d like to stay
with it if at all possible.

Thanks for any help you can give.

George
