I am currently using JAWS 15 and it only reads 1 page of an “empty” PDF but is
very useful to me and I understand JAWS 16 will read multiple pages OCR.

Once WE works well with QuickBooks which I use daily and fixes issues that
cause crashing I want to migrate to WE and I will need an OCR feature which
hopefully will be in WE.

I will assume that many of the “features” requested by others will be
addressed as the features they are requesting aren’t actually features they are
bug fixes, namely stability and memory usage.

The most important issue to be addressed in the next version of Window-Eyes
without a doubt is HTML5-ARIA support. That said, I have two additional items
I would like to see addressed:

1. I am somewhat convinced that more and more computing will be done on
Tablets in the future. Thus far however, it doesn’t look like a great share of
the tablet market is running Windows-based operating systems. Nevertheless,
for Windows-based tablets, touch support will likely be all but necessary..
Many Windows notebooks also support touch.

2. I too had become reliant on the virtual Mouse to access Web sites. It
is sorely missed.

I am not sold on the need for an integrated OCR feature. I will however
defer to the numbers on this one. I haven’t heard many people raving about the
OCR functionality currently available in other screen readers, only people on
this list bemoaning its absence. Furthermore, as suggested on this list, this
seems to be the perfect sort of project for a script writer.

Apropos to improved Web support, I will second a previous poster’s suggestion
that we should have the ability to jump to onclicks; the ability to Tab to them
would also be nice. Many actions on my online broker’s site are onclicks.
This is currently where I miss Mouse-access to Web pages the most.

  Thanks for your consideration.

Hello Everyone,

We want to take a quick survey. If you could have a feature in Window-Eyes,
what would it be? Please keep in mind that the next version is improving web
support, so we are looking for your opinion on what you would like to see in
the future. Please note that we cannot commit to implement every suggestion,
but we certainly welcome your feedback.

Thanks!

Jeremy
