Hi Robert,
I use Fritz 12, and it is accessible with window eyes and with a dgt
chess board.
I had bought deep fritz 14 and it too was accessible, but I was
disappointed with and it returned it..
If you are interested, here is a copy of my review of deep fritz 14 on
amazon:
This review is from:
Deep Fritz 14: 64 Bit Multiprocessor version (DVD-ROM)
I own Fritz 6, 8, 10, 12, and now I got Deep Fritz 14. I ran comparison
blunder check
and shoot out mode with Fritz 12 and Deep Fritz 14. IN all my comparison
Deep Fritz
14 took much longer than Fritz 12 The product description below is false
advertising:
"this Single-processor engines are a thing of the past - that's why the
new Fritz
comes
as a powerful multi-processor version right from the word go. Deep Fritz
14 features
a 64-bit engine, and, like its predecessor, can support up to eight
processor cores
simultaneously. That's where the similarities end, however, as the
engine itself
has been completely redesigned and packs almost 100 Elo points more than
the previous
version, putting Deep Fritz 14 amongst the strongest chess programs in
the world.
Optimized for Windows 8.1: With its novel 64-bit program interface, Deep
Fritz 14
runs faster and flows better on the latest versions of Windows."
I contacted chessbase to inform them of my findings. Below is a copy of
my email
and their response:I am a bit disappointed with deep fritz 14.
I did blunder check for a game I played with fritz 12 and with deep
fritz 14 to compare
the results.
Fritz12 indicates that it is using one core and deep fritz 14 indicates
that it is
using 3 cores. This is a intel quad core q6600 model at 2.4 mhz.
The blunder settings in both programs are set the same , which is the
default setting
- time 10.
My time to finish the blunder check in fritz was 19 minutes and a few
seconds.
deep fritz 14 took 29 minutes and a few seconds.
I would expect deep fritz 14 to take less time., which is the reason
that I bought
it
Why is deep fritz 14 taking 10 minutes longer?
Chessbase answer:
ChessBase GmbH
Hello,
thank you very much for your email.
The two Fritz Engines are written by two different programmers. Fritz 12
is written
by Frans Morsch, who unfortunately stopped his activities in Computer Chess.
The Deep Fritz 14 Engine is written by Gyula Horvath from Hungary. This
means that
the Engines have the same Label, but in facht they are totally different
and this
explains the deviation in the Analysis.
I don't know about you, but this answer is unacceptable. I contacted
Amazon and they
agree with me, and I am getting my money back.
I would suggest buying the older version. You could probably get it for
under $15.

Dear all,
Have any of you tried the Fritz 14 Chess program with Window-eyes? Is
it at all accessible?
