Roberts [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, October 21, 2014 2:50 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Thunderbird, I'm looking for a consensus I am hoping to obtain some sort of a consensus from other Window-eyes users of recent versions of the Thunderbird mail client. I really like the flexibility and configurability of Thunderbird. However, with recent versions, in my case 31.1.2, every time I turn around, I get a message from the Thunderbird crash reporter that I need to restart Thunderbird. I should also mention that I am running Window-eyes 8.4 on a Windows 8.1 desktop. I never had these crashes with earlier versions of Thunderbird. Also, in recent versions there are annoying messages such as, but not limited to, "Thunderbird thinks this message is spam," not verbatim but close. I have decreased these messages somewhat in the settings but cannot eliminate them entirely. So I have said all that merely to ask a question or two. Do other Thunderbird users encounter the same problems I have outlined? If I return to say version 24.5, will I lose all of my settings? One other problem I wanted to mention which may be peculiar to this machine's configuration. When reading a message in Thunderbird which contained an attachment, I could use the W E mouse keys to locate the word "save" in order to save that attachment. Now the mouse keys are almost non functional in Thunderbird. Most of the time, I just get a ding when attempting to use the mouse keys. In conclusion, I should also mention that since buying this machine, Window-eyes performance is less than stellar. For example, I never hear the UAC messages, just dings when I think that a UAC message may be on the screen. Also, the Window-eyes mouse keys are now almost useless to me. I don't want to be unfair to Window-eyes as I bought the product shortly after version 1 was released. But I am getting more and more frustrated.
