This is for Windows Live Mail. If I want to save one or more attachments to
read later, I do Alt-F, S, A from within the message. Attachments are saved in
the last folder used to insert or save attachments, so it is not necessarily
“my documents.”
If I want to open an attachment directly, I turn Browse mode off with
ctrl-shift-A, then tab or shift-tab to find the attachment. I then route the
mouse pointer to the attachment I found (W-E says “pointer routed to button.”
I then use the right-click mouse key to get a context menu for the attachment,
which includes opening it.
There may be other ways to do this.
