control-alt-w is a Windows shortcut to launch Window-Eyes. Window-Eyes
doesn't have any input in this. It is up to the operating system to
launch Window-Eyes. I'm not at a point I can't test but I didn't
remember control-alt-w being an insert-key layout hotkey...so I wouldn't
think there is a conflict. However, I have seen on some Windows 7
systems that Windows will simply focus the application if it is already
running instead of launching a new instance. Meaning the first press of
control-alt-w (the Windows shortcut to launch Window-Eyes) will start
Window-Eyes. But the second press will simply focus the first instance
instead of restarting it. If this is happening you can press windows-R
to bring up the Windows run dialog and type "wineyes" (without the
quotes) and press enter. This will always launch another instance of
Window-Eyes.

Hi Doug. I have a problem with w.e. it seems that when you use the insert
key layout with control alt 0, some functions do not work. For example, when
I hit control alt w, window-eyes will just say w, but not reload it.
Sometimes this'll happen even when when not in insert key layout mode. Why
is that?

Matt,
No, line numbers are no longer available. Giving line numbers with today's
dynamic pages doesn't make sense any longer. Many pages continue to grow as
you go down it. So line numbers are no longer relevant.

In browse mode, Control shift s used to read out, among other things,
the line number and the total number of lines on the page.
Is there a substitute for it in v9? The hotkey no longer returns the
same information.
