Tom,
if an app is disabled or stopped it is not taking any memory. Also,
remember that apps which are program specific do not even launch until
the application is running. For example Window-Eyes 9 now ships with
the QuickBook Enhance app. If you don't have QuickBooks or never launch
it, the app will never take any memory.
