Hi, When reading emails, web pages, read-to-end automatically starts. You can press control to stop speech or escape, the first key press stops rte the second key press executes the function. This is why you need to press escape twice.
In older versions of Window-eyes it just spoke a chunk of text and didn't actually perform a read to end. This is why the behavior is slightly different. As far as Browse mode turning on for new emails in Outlook Express, we have done 0 testing with Outlook express. You could try composing emails in text to see if the issue goes away. I notice that I have to press escape twice after reading a message to get back to the inbox. Also, when composing a message I have to turn off browse mode. Can someone who knows what they're talking about explain this? Aside from these minor problems the beta works ok with XP. Who knows, in a few years after collecting enough pop cans I'll buy a new computer! If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
