And to add to what Jim said, the update check is designed to shut down
once it sees it is not needed..this hasn't changed in 9.

I'm running WE 9 beta 1 and it's awesome! Just a quick note for you guys who
haven't updated yet, or have and aren't sure what's going on there are a few
scripts that check which version of Window-eyes you're running. If they aren't
the right one they'll close. The 4 that i'm aware of right now that aren't
working yet are the scripts for Winamp, station playlist studio, update check,
and insert key layout. So if you rely on those scripts for every day use, you
might wait until they're updated to install the beta.
I do run Winamp and Station playlist quite frequently, but the nice thing is
those programs can be used without scripts for the time being, but i'll sure be
happy when they'll be updated.
I'm loving the new web support in WE 9 it is lightning fast!
So i'm happy with the results, good goin guys!
