I'm on my work laptop right now and just noticed the same issue is on this
laptop as far as the Browse mode on and off tones and I'm only on WE 8.4 here.
I went to the Control Panel and there are no sounds assigned to any of the
Window Eyes events. I know I get the start up sound when WE launches, so not
sure why that wouldn't be at least noted. What would have turned off these
sounds? I'll try to go assign sounds now, but wonder how I got to this point
to start.

Hi,
Make sure the browse mode on and browse mode off sounds are assigned.
They are in the sounds/window-eyes group in the windows control panel.

Subject: IE sounds, including the browse mode indicator sounds are gone since
Beta 9

On my home laptop, I'm still getting used to Beta 9 in IE 11 on Windows 8.1,
but have noticed that I'm not getting any sounds when web browsing. I'm used to
a rather musical parade of beeps and progress percentages and still get this
on my work laptop running WE 8.4, but I think some of you are saying that those
are gone since the beta no longer loads into the browse mode buffer. I'm also
still only on IE 8 at work, so I cannot do a straight comparison anywhere.
Here's what I'm seeing:

* No progress sounds when I change pages - I think you all say this is
your experience too

* No sounds when clicking links, even though I do have the checkbox
marked for IE sounds under Accessibility Options in IE.

* No Window Eyes sounds indicating I'm going in and out of browse mode,
even though I have it set to indicate with both speech and tone. If I switch
it to just indicate with tones, I get no sounds either ,so there is no way to
hear if I'm in or out of browse mode.

* I do get other system sounds like WE startup, error notices and so
on, so it's not that my systems sounds overall got turned off. I checked that
on the Control Panel.
Any insights? Am I missing something with what to expect in WE 9?
