Hi Max,

As memory serves, they have changed the hotkey for this app, and who knows
or cares what it is now.
Therefore, your best solution is to go to the app menu in the WE control
panel, arrow down to Insert Key layout, expand this entry, arrow down to
Enable, and, if it is checked, press Enter on it to uncheck it.

Hth,

Rod

Subject: Re: Read to End Not Working

If my reply to Jeff W.'s post isn't formatted as his subject was, the
problem is germain to said reply. After finding an occurrence of the
subject line in the digest for Monday I was unable to read word by word
with Ctrl. Right and Left arrows in the usual manner; thus could not copy
the text mentally, checking for dashes etc. char. by char. I'm not
talking about the new F8 selection method.

If in fact a 2nd press of Read-2-end worked in the Jeff Weiss's case it
shows up another problem with the we-9 beta: Namely, odd behavior of
interruptability. You can never get to a new item directly but must
always turn off, i.e. interrupt, the current one. This was never true in
browse mode before! It sounds like a small thing, but if you're reviewing
text, i.ee. reading-to-end a lot, it is not a small thing.

Also, I tried to follow the suggestion of turning off insert key layout
with Ctrl.-alt-0. In this case I'd halted read-2-end of course.

W.E. just said "Zero." Nothing on or off. (In spite of having set number
processing to "on" and not to "on with numbers", I always do get the
individual digits spoken. This goes back to W.E. 8.4, and I'm not about
to follow the suggestion of creating a new profile at this time to fix
*that* issue.)

I'm baffled as to the insert-key layout issue; maybe I never had that
layout installed, and my concern re interruptability and text processing
within the unbuffered Web interface grows apace!
