Hi Peter, I actually do understand how f8 works. You move to the start, hit f8, then arrow around. Text is not being selected until you hit f8 again to end the mark. Only after the second press of f8 text is selected.
I think Max may have been a little confused as when you arrow to the left it doesn't say unselected as the text is not actually selected until you finish the mark with the second press of f8.
