Hi Peter,
I actually do understand how f8 works.  You move to the start, hit f8, then 
arrow around.  Text is not being selected until you hit f8 again to end the 
mark.  Only after the second press of f8 text is selected.

I think Max may have been a little confused as when you arrow to the left it 
doesn't say unselected as the text is not actually selected until you finish 
the mark with  the second press of f8.

You don't understand how F8 is meant to work!

F8 and F8 again mark the start and end of the material to be copied; don't 
think of F8 as a "selection and unselection method"; it isn't!  Rather, think 
of F8 as a Start and Stop method.  All the stuff on the web page, text and 
images, are copied with format preserved.

If you wish only to copy the text into WordPad or Word, then you must open a 
document and then pick the desired Special Paste option.

What would be nice is the ability to set a default Paste format, e.g., text, 
Unicode text, etc., so you don't need to pick it every time you put copied 
stuff into a document.
