Today, I again noticed the sluggishness of speech in Thunderbirdon my desktop computer. My computer had gone in to sleep mode and only after awaking the computer, the speech from eloquence could not be stopped by keyboard commands. Restarting or shuttingdown WE or shutting down Windows only partially solves the problem. The only sure cure is to restart Windows.

This happened on both my desktop and laptop computers running Windows 8.1 at separate times today. When I was in Thunderbird, suddenly, speech, using eloquence, became sluggish and I could not close WE or restart it. The only way I could restore normal speech was to restart the computer. Also, on my desktop I tried switching synthesizers to dectalk access and microsoft sapi 5 and the problem continued until I restarted the computer.
