Recently, I released the newest version of the extended Dictionary app.
It was a pleasure in that version - like in the former ones - to meet
several user-requests for features. And, also several new entries -
received from users, made their way into the shipping dictionaries.
As it happens most of the time with software, once it is released, new
bugs show up. A couple of user feedbacks made me aware of a few things
to pay attention to, and the next release will have fixes in place. I
hope that next version will be on the market quite shortly. It even
holds yet another new feature, that will help increase the
responsiveness and functionality of the app.
Still, I wanted to ask all users of the app, if there is anything that
you would like to see implemented in the Extended Dictionary. Would
there be any features, any entries you can't figure out a good solution
to, or whatever ideas you may have for some improvements. Although I
cannot guarantee your request will be met neither in this upcoming
version, nor in the next ones to follow, I would like to have your ideas
on the board. User requests are often the best driver for development,
since that helps the developer of any piece of software or hardware, to
taylor the material according to the needs of the market.
One big change that took place in the last official release, was a
reorganizing of the User's Guide. I am interested to know, whether this
improved the readability of the manual, and your chances to find the
information you are looking for. Some of the chapters in the manual,
even are built on experiences and issues, reported to me from end-users.
Since these have been considered of general interest, they have been
written in as part of the manual. Hence, even if you do not have any
wishes for your software to operate much differently, maybe you just
want to let me know about your issues in things like creating
full-fledged entries in a given case. This way, your experiences can
benefit the whole community, as things may be covered in future releases
of the app.
Anyone who has feedback on the app, is welcome to contact me directly
via email. Please note, that I do not claim to have a solution for
everything, and many times the solution may not be available at the
moment. I do not have resources to offer hours of support for
individuals either. The whole project is a volunteered and spare-time
matter. I just want to have my ears open for what the end-user have for
experiences and feedback, hoping for the project to be a bit dynamic.
