You authorize a device the same way you always have. I was having trouble
with a device recently and contacted Audible customer support. They used a
remote assist tool which worked perfectly. They found that I needed to reset
my password. Then we were able to authorize my device. They also downloaded
a book I had previously purchased just to make sure the download worked.
Subsequently, I was able to playthree Audible books already on my computer
and on my BookSense XT which they helped me reauthorize. While I'm not sure
why things broke down in the first place, I'm back on the road again.

hmmm, if the downloa manager has ceased development, what is the correct
way now to download audible content? And once you download it, can you
play it on the computer or authorize a device, etc?

Development of Audible Manager has ceased, so there won't be any more
updates. At least that's what Audible Support told me a few months ago
when I contacted them about lock-ups which might just be those you are
getting. My Downloads always complete, however, so if I wait for some
time and then restart WE I usually find the audiobook on my hard drive
and in good order. So this might be annoying but not too critical,
especially with the restart Feature in place.
Kind regards,
Felix
