I'm glad I'm still using itunes 11. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Skarstad Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2015 9:49 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Accessibility issues with iTunes 12, and Window-eyes 9 Hi folks Yesterday, I updated to iTunes 12, and I'm starting to wish I hadn't. Unfortunately, at least on my machine running Windows 7 and Window-eyes 9, the only way I can browse the iTunes store is to turn browse mode off with control plus shift plus a. After that you can tab through the different links and they can be activated, but you can't use the arrow keys to actually read anything such as song titles or other basic information about the album or tv show you're looking at. Here are the exact steps I'm taking to reproduce this, and it happens every single time i try it. 1. Open iTunes. 2. Press your shift tab key combination until you hear, iTunes store radio button unchecked, and then press the space bar to check it. When you do this the page will refresh and the contents of the store page will load and you will hear a slight swoosh noise to indicate this is happening. 3. Now here's where it gets fun. In earlier versions, you could easily read the store page very similar to how a web page looks. It has links and buttons and all the usual items you would expect. This is where Window-eyes reports no link or control. If you press control plus shift plus a to turn browse mode on, this seems to work a little and you can read different links on the page. You can press tab and shift tab, but as I said above, you can't use the arrow keys. I hope this is enough info for folks. If anyone else is noticing this, i'm wondering if it's possible to go back to an earlier version of iTunes 11 that was more accessible? Or am i stuck with the current version and I'll just have to hope that Apple will fix this in the next update? Any help would be great!
