Hello Sunshine:

You probably got an answer to your question already; but if not, here's what I
think I know:

1. It's possible that your friend will have to pay for a cumulative upgrade to
get to Window-Eyes9. The best folks to shed more light on this is the GW
Micro/AI Squared Order Department. You know, screen readers ARE NOT like any
other software in which case you can just purchase whichever copy you want and
be good that way. Example: You have Office XP, but you don't want Office 2003
or Office 2007; you can just purchase Office 2013 without having to worry about
paying for cumulative upgrades.
2. SMA's: After your friend upgrades to Window-Eyes9, then you can purchase
an SMA for $199. It's good for TWO upgrades only. Therefore, if after the
upgrade, Window-Eyes10 or 11 is released, your friend will get a copy mailed
out to him or her and no extra payment will be involved. If you don't have an
SMA, then your friend will need to pay whatever the upgrade price is for
individuals without an SMA.
3. FUTURE WINDOW-EYES UPGRADE PRICING WITHOUT AN SMA: I think if I have a
magic wand, I'll try waving it to see if it can come back with an answer!
Since I don't have one, I doubt if anyone else, besides GW Micro/AI Squared
will know. Let's just plan on being here the next three years, and then we'll
find out!

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado
