Hi,

What version of JAWS do you have installed on your computer? What do you
have in startup? Do you have any toolbars installed? If you do remove them!

Thank you.

Subject: Possible Major Problem with Window-Eyes and 64-Bit Systems

Hi,

For a couple weeks now, I've been using Window-Eyes 9 for Office as a
secondary screen reader on my 64-bit system running Windows 7 Professional.
For the most part, it's been working great, but ever since installing it,
I've noticed that my system would sometimes act a bit slower than usual
after rebooting. This afternoon, however, things got worse. After rebooting
the machine due to a system lockup, JAWS, which I use as my primary screen
reader, took around 5 minutes to load, which it usually doesn't do. (I
should mention here that I didn't have JAWS or Window-Eyes set to run at the

logon screen.) That was fine, except that my keyboard and mouse refused to
work, but the touch cursor buttons on my braille display did, bringing me to

the desktop in the process. (Unplugging and plugging in the keyboard didn't
resolve the problem.) I had no choice but to reboot again, and again, until
eventually everything came back up, except for my Internet access which I
get via a USB wireless adaptor. On top of that, the system must've been
running more slowly than usual because my speech was sounding rather choppy.

It's really hard to describe. Anyway, the whole ordeal took around an hour
or so to get to this state. Thinking it had something to do with
Window-Eyes, I removed it from my system, and things are going faster again,

though I've had instances where the keyboard occasionally won't work after
another reboot. I'm just wondering if anyone has encountered anything like
what I've described, and if there's a way of fixing it? It's maddening to
say the least.

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
