We cannot sell the Sense notetakers outside of the US or Canada. The Voice Sense and Braille Sense commands are modeled closely to Windows so it should not matter which screen reader you are used to. You cannot install third party software on our units, however they already come feature-packed. The Braille Sense Plus weighs 2.01 pounds and all the detailed specifications are located on our web site www.gwmicro.com/Braille_Sense.

Many thanks.

Hi Dianne yes grate the size and being able to carry the techie stuff is very important. I wonder how much heavier the braille sense is than the pk.? I am thinking of going to sight village but it is so very busy. I do have a demo of jaws as well. I love the braille output but the price is big if you look at the voice sense to the braille sense. I wonder if with the voice and braille sense what the future is as regards to updates. thanks very much for getting back though. will pay force ten a call. thanks. At 14:43 01/07/2008, you wrote:
Hi John

I live in the UK, I know what you mean about Force Ten but if you contact
them they will do a home visit to show you what the Braille sence or voice
sense are like. On a personal note I have had a Braillenote and a pacmate
but love my little voicesence it is a little harder to learn than a
braillenote but well worth the effort. If you were a Jaws user I might say a
Pacmate would be a good idea as the keyboard commands are very similar if
not the same for most things but as you are a Window eyes user I think it
may not be quite as easy. Also although the Pacmate can take third party
programs it is a much heavier thing to carry around with you.

Hope these comments help.
Diane

Subject: [GWN] notetakers

Hi list
I am very interested in acquiring a second notetakers. I have the
braille note pk.
I am looking at the voice or braille sense plus or a pac mate.
I travel a lot and I know the pacmate can have third party software.
I am n ot sure about the braille sense plus
I did phone the uk distributors but they did not send me any info on
the braille sense plus.
I use window eyes and know gwmicro are a grate company.
Would I be better buying online from gwmicro or going to force ten
who do not seem blind friendly to me.
is there a try before you buy with these notetakers.
now to the size is the braille sense smaller than the pacmate?
sorry about all the questions but it is a lot of my own money I will
be spending.
thanks for any reply.
just joined the list so hi to everyone.
I work as a piano tuner in the uk.
