This has already been reported and is being worked on.

I wrote a document yesterday on the BSP in contracted braille.
One line contained a braille dash, dots 3-6, 3-6. I saved the document
as a .doc file, and what do you know, that braille dash turned into the
following software code:
the letter "x", followed by dots 4-5, 4-5, followed by the lowered
numbers 227, followed by dots 4-5-6-8. I have found many other similar
codes in various files I read with the BSp, with different numbers, such
as 240 and 224. I believe all these codes represent punctuation marks.
I also often encounter numerous instances where the 8-dot computer
braille vertical bar sign, dots 1-2-5-6-8, appears close up to words and
numbers. When that happens, the words or numbers in question are
translated as computer braille, not contracted braille.
I must emphasize that, while the BrailleNote has its own braille
idiosyncracies, similar software codes do not creep into the braille on
that notetaker. This has been an ongoing problem with the Sense
notetakers, and it is frustrating to note that neither HIMS nor GW Micro
has been able to solve it, working with Duxbury Systems.
What I haven't been able to determine yet is if these software codes
appear on the visual display.
