Hello Stacey. First off, your suggestion of entering in a date to see
what it'll be in the future is a good one. I have marked this down and
it will hopefully be added. As to how to use the calendar. You choose a
date by entering it in the format MM space DD space YYYY. This means 2
digits for the month followed by a space, 2 digits for the date followed
by a space, and 4 digits for the year.
While you are in the calendar, have you pressed space-h to see the
context sensitive help? This gives you the instructions on how to enter
in a date as well as how to move the date using space-commands so you
need not enter in a string of numbers.
Lastly, A lunar calendar is a calendar that is based on cycles of the
moon phase. The only widely used purely lunar calendar is the Islamic
calendar, whose year always consists of 12 lunar months. A feature of a
purely lunar year, on the Islamic calendar model, is that the calendar
ceases to be linked to the seasons, and drifts each year by 11 or 12
days, and comes back to the position it had in relation to the solar ear
every 33 or 34 Islamic years. It is used predominantly for religious
purposes. In Saudi Arabia it is also used for commercial purposes.
Most lunar calendars are in fact lunisolar calendars. That is, months
are kept on a lunar cycle, but then intercalary months
are added to bring the lunar cycles into synchronization with the
solar year. Being that there are about twelve lunations (synodic months)
in a solar year, this period (354.37 days) is sometimes referred to as a
lunar year.

I'd love to see a way to enter a number of days and press enter and you
would know what that date and day of th week would be.
For example, you'd bring up todays date. 8/8/08 and then press the
number 10 and then the letter d for day or w for week and then enter.
In the example you'd hear August 18 2008.
