Hello Steve. Based on your description, it seems as if your secure digital card has some corruption. Have you opened the card from Windows to see if Explorer can read it? Have you ran Scandisk on the card to fix any errors? Remember that secure digital dards, compact flash cards, and USB MEMORY STICKS ARE ALL FLASH MEDIA WHICH IS LESS SECURE THAN A HARDDRIVE. Also, if the VS LOCKS UP WHILE FILES ARE OPEN, IT's no different than when a PC LOCKS UP AND YOU HAVE FILES OPEN. When you reset or reboot, anything which was opened at the time of the lockup will be lost. I don't know why you are missing other files, but if they were open during the lockup, they may have gotten corrupted.
