Cliff.
Sorry for being so "VS unsavvy", how do you "set the skip
interval" whatever time you choose? What keystroke? What "action?
Peter.

If you start playing the file, pause it and press dot 5. It will
say something like time index 5 seconds. Press dot 5 again and
it will say time index 10 seconds. Repeated presses will
increase the skip time saying 30 seconds, one minute, 5 minutes,
10 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour. The next press will start over
at 5 seconds. If you use dot 2, the same times will be spoken in
the reverse direction.
After you have set the skip interval, begin playing the audio
file again. Press dot 1 to go back or dot 4 to go forward in the
file by the amount you set in the previous step. The VS
remembers the length of the skip you set, so the next time you
press dot 1 or dot 4, it will skip by that same amount of time.

Cliff.
Say you choose 5 minutes, how do you set that?
Peter.

If you are using one of the latest beta releases, beta 2 or 3,
you can press dot 5 to increase the skip time or dot 2 de
decrease the skip time. It is a new and great feature. After
you have set the amount of time you want to skip you can press
dot 4 to skip forward or dot 1 to go backward by the length of
time you specified by dots 2 or 5 in the previous step. You do
not need to stop or pause the playing of the audio file to skip.

When playing an extended audio recording is it possible to go
forward, or back, through it, by say 5 minutes? If so, how?
Peter.
