Hi! Thanks for the input. I like books in txt or brf too. I guess I'll use all the ways equally eventually.
?thanks for writing! -----Original Message----- From: Mike Keithley [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, November 18, 2008 4:12 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [GWN] Who am I? Hello, There are other possibilities for reading bookshare books once they are unpacked. Although use of the Daisy player is the usual path, you can often download books as a grade 2 brf file; and once the book is unpacked, you can move it to a preferred folder. In addition, the unpacking utility may allow you to unpack the book as an HTML file; and once this is done, you can move the book to a preferred folder. However, I've found that books can take forever to load in the browser, so converting it to a text (.tx) file makes for faster reading. It's true that you've lost the ability to navigate easily, but I've never missed this feature. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Loescher, Martha" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Date: 2008/11/18 18:18:03 Subject: [GWN] Who am I? > > > > > > Hello All My name is Martha, and I just got a Braille Sense plus 32 this past September. I really enjoy it, and have asked a lot of questions of Raul Et Al at GW, but no doubt I'll have more. > One thing is: I wish I could put all the books I download from > bookshare.org into one folder instead of having them go into separate folders. The BSP seems to like to do that. This is true when unpacking a book. When I'm downloading one, it goes into the download folder, but when I opt for a different folder that already exists to put the book in, I am informed that "that folder already exists" and am asked what folder to unpack book. > Oh well. I find the daisy player very frustrating, because after selecting a book, it says "there is no list." So, I'll continue to explore that avenue as I need to. > Take care, all, and thanks for being there. > ! > Martha Loescher, Secretary > Ohio Department of Natural Resources > Division of Watercraft > 2045 Morse Rd > Bldg a-3 > Columbus OH 43229 > Phone: 614-265-6774 > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
