The position getting lost if you press the reset button is typical of
resetting a device. Meaning just like a PC, if you force a reboot, you
stand a chance at losing things. The Braille Sense is no different. Only
data which is actually saved to flashdisk, CF or SD memory is kept
through a reset. Things like the active memory are not affected either,
meaning if you have an address book or scheduled tasks, they too will
remain in memory. However they might be out of sync if your lock up or
reset was pressed before saving the data.

it would be nice if the position would remain in the last file to be
closed always so it is not lost in a reset or when the notetaker goes to
sssleep and you don't explicitly open and close the file before turning
the notetaker off. Is this possible?

You don't have to mark a file you are reading in the word processor. If
you close the program, you will be at the point where you left off when
you reopen it.
