Hi To everyone, thanks for answering my freezing question. The not being able to send mail is really bugging me LOL, one of the major reasons I got the BS was to do email when I don't have access to a pc. I can receive fine, though I'm wondering if anyone knows why it sometimes takes ages to connect to the net. I've got it on a router and turn the dsl modem off at night or other times when I'm not going to use it for a while. I turn the modem on then plug in the bs and turn it on and then it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes before it says connected, and yes the modem appears to be working fine all four of the lights are on but the bs is still trying to connect.
But back to my inability to send mail. I have several mail accounts that I put into the bs. I used the settings I got off my PC in order to set up the accounts on the BS. One thing I don't have on the pc is a user name and password for the smtp server, I assume it's your account name and password? The question there is that my original account is this one puppycat, it's how I connect to the tbaytel server, I don't know if that is important when setting up my other accounts on the bs or not? Do I need the puppycat user name and password for my other accounts, on my pc I don't? As you can see I really don't have a firm grasp of how this all works. I tried to send two messages to my other accounts this morning, the first failed giving me a "535-515 error incorrect password or account name." When I sent the message to a second account it went through, so I don't understand why one would fail and a second succeed? I don't understand the item "use as default smtp? Do I need to check that or not, it's not in my account info on the pc and no items are checked on the pc either. I've tried sending messages a second time and they seem to be going through, this makes no sense. Also can anyone suggest why when I receive messages from yahoo for moderation the bs doesn't show them as having attachments even though they do and the attached file is included at the end of the message body? Thanks for any help. There are a few problems with the email app and it occasionally hangs. As for not being able to send email, can you do it with the same account with your PC? If so, check to see that all the settings are the same, i.e., if outgoing port numbers and such are the same. Mike
