Hello Richard. It sounds like you are doing all the recordings while you have the voice Sense connected to the PC. If this is the case, access to the file manager is not allowed by design to avoid file locking problems. So regardless of whether mobile disk is set to on, give the recording a try without it connected to the PC via the usb cable and it will work. As noted by others, mobile disk on means the Sense is seen as a usb removable device, mobile disk off means that Sense is seen as a device to use Active Sync with. Many thanks.

This is so frustrating. I meant to say when Mobile Disk is set to off, it
won't record. So, you turn it off, record something, then you have to turn
Mobile Disk on if you want to access it with your computer.
Obviously, you can just save it to a Thumb Drive but that seems a bit
convoluted.

I suspect it is a matter of getting used to the idiosyncrasies' of this
device.

Oh well.

Hi Richard,

Maybe I'm not understanding you correctly. Are you saying that the bsp
will not record when mobile disc is set to on? If so, I've recorded
here and the file was saved and mobile disc was on. They were short
recordings, but it did work.

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you're saying though.

Don

Yes, I know that, but the setting of Mobile Disk On, also prevents the
BSP
from seeing its own files or recording....

Ricahrd,
With moble disk on, the computer will see your unit as an aditional
drive.

So, this one is for GW Micro and/or HIMS.
I was using the recording feature to do a line-in recording. That
works
quite nicely by the way. Or, it does if you have the Mobile Disk set
correctly.
If Mobile Disk is "on" you are told that you don't have enough disk
space
to
record. So, I go and turn off Mobile Disk and do the recording.
Now, I want to use my computer to grab that file and edit it in
GoldWave.
I
have to turn Mobile Disk back on in order to do that.

Is that intended? If so, could someone explain the logic? I know
I'm
going
to have to explain that to a client at some point.

Thanks,
Richard
