We had a rep from one of the other gps makers here a week or so ago and we got to spend some time playing with the product to see just how it works. I must admit that I was quite disappointed. I didn't get the gps with the bs+ though I may in the future. A few questions, What is the acceptable margine of error, apparently the demo was 20 feet but at times it was considerably more. We tried it on the bus and for the first 5 minutes or so couldn't get a signal and then kept getting wrong information, once it finally clued in it was okay. We did a segment of bike path and it told me the streets around me which is reasonable, I would assume that bike paths might not be on a gps map as yet. It didn't tell us what river we crossed or even indicate that we were crossing a river, twice. It told me that a long driveway was in fact a three way intersection and insisted on using the word saint when it meant street. Also one of the major streets in the city was listed as "street with no name" I understand the gps for the bn has 20 million points of interest in north america, how thoroughly does that cover remote areas, sure it's nice to have every restaurant in Toronto indicated but it doesn't do me much good a way up here in the bush if it doesn't recognize street names. How well does it deal with parking lots and other open areas, does it just consider them open space and you're on your own? The other thing I found was that the demo unit often read off the intersections behind me more than the ones in front which if one wasn't paying closest attention could be confusing as you might question which way you're going. Is the gps for the bs strictly for city use or for well mapped areas or could one use it for something like geo-caching, AKA treasure hunting via gps. Can it be used with the traditional numbers rather than place names? Thanks for any information. Tessa
