I received a braillesense plus with a defective internal mic. I didn't
notice this for a few weeks after purchase as really don't use the
record feature all that much.
However, when I did notice it, I reported it to gw, they immediately
gave me an rma number and I had extremely fast turnaround time for
repair of the unit.
It was one of the very best servicing experiences I've ever seen from a
vender.

Right. I had trouble getting the media player's menues to come up
because the recording session had it's own dialog. So I did some
fiddling just now, and it looks like I have two problems: a defective
internal mic, and a dead battery in my batterybox. When I use the
external mic on the external mic setting I get clear audio. There is
background noise, even when I set the audio spec to wav, but at least
there is audio. Presumably if I were recording with the batterybox in
the chain I'd set this to line in and probably get a much clearer
sound. And of course my initial tests with the internal mic on the
internal mic setting yeilded static and nothing else, so we got a bad
internal mic.
That clears that up anyway. Thanks very much.

Last week i made some test recordings on the braille sense plus,

they turned out like garbo. Most of them were completely useless

had no sound at all. some had a hissing background sound in them.

did get a capture of my voice but only by plugging in my
batterybox,
turning up the volume and the gain to full, and pressing both of

binoral mics up to my face and yelling into them. Without the
external mics I got no sound or just background noise. Is this
normal, or have I got a dud?
If I get a book sense should I expect it to behave this wa?
