Hi, Steve, If you remove the BS from its case, hold it so that the rear panel is toward you and the unit is upside down.
On the right edge of the bottom, near the rear panel is a rectangular plastic piece. Moving down slightly diagonally there is a latch which can be slid. With your left hand on the latch and pushing it, use your right hand to slide the battery out. I suggest that you do not have the power on when you do this. You can find this in the manual under "Introduction."
