It sounds like for some reason, your file got corrupt. Based on the steps you give below, I think you were doing the right thing. However unless you can reproduce this every time, it's probably one of those flukes. Typically when you edit a file, you save it and then you can remove the card. Then you can look at it on the pc, edit it some more and then put the card back in. There are some cases where it's better to insert and remove cards into and out of the Braille Sense while it's on, but again, this usually doesn't matter. Sorry I can't give more useful information.
