I've discovered a "feature" (read a bug) in the latest BS Plus firmware: if one is writing in ASCII in the word processor with 8-dot mode turned on, sometimes 8-mode gets turned off when an uppercase letter is followed by a punctuation mark such as a semicolon. An example will illustrate this. I keep a blood glucose and insulin dosage log in a flat file, writing in ASCII with 8-mode on so I needn't worry about braille translation problems when odd character combinations are encountered. A line in the file might look like:
1130: 108; 15H; Lunch; Peanutbutter sandwich, ice tea; 30G I've noticed that sometimes when I write the "H;", 8-dot mode gets turned off and I must turn it on again. It doesn't always happen and I haven't figured the "necessary and sufficient" conditions for this anomalous behavior to occur yet. Fun and games! Mike Freeman
