The BrailleSense doesn't support foreign languages. But if you need to
write in a foreign language for your own personal use and you don't plan to
show it to a sighted person, there is a work-around. You can turn off
speech and write Spanish or French the same way you would if you were using
a Perkins brailler and paper.
If the BrailleSense supported writing in 8-dot braille, then you could write
Spanish or French in computer braille and a sighted person could read it.
You would still have to leave speech turned off.
It would be nice if writing 8 dot braille was supported. I don't know how
bt keyboard users write capital letters in computer braille when 8 dot
braille is unavailable. I'm sure someone could enlighten me, (grin).
It would also be nice if the BrailleSense Plus supported writing unicode
characters. I tried turning on numlock, holding down the alt key and typing
four numbers, but all I got was the error beep.
I was also surprised to learn that the BrailleSense Plus doesn't support
tabs. Perhaps all these things could be implemented in a future release.
