I'm glad to hear that. I'll be going on a cruise next week and will be flying to L.A. and plan to take my book sense with me of course.

Hi, I just took a trip with mine through 5 airports with no problem.

Subject: [GW-Booksense] flying with the booksense

I just received my booksense XT, just in time for my trip. This might seem to be a strange question, but I'll ask it anyway and explain why I ask. Is
it safe to put the booksense through the security scanner at the airport?
In 2005, I took a Braille notetaker on a trip with me. After it came out of
the security scanner, it stopped working completely. I had to get a new
mother board in it. I was informed by the manufacturer that that particular
brand of notetaker often needed repair after being x rayed in the airport
security scanner. Since that experience, I have been extremely apprehensive about putting my adaptive equipment in the scanners at the airport. Also, I travel frequently for work and I anticipate using the local commuter train
in the near future, which I am certain has some sort of security scanner.
So, any information or advice from someone who has flown with their
booksense would be greatly appreciated!
