If you have email you want to save, just press S-chord, and it
will go to "my documents." I've seen more units crash by people
testing the limits. The Braille Sense Plus is about the best
there is, and handles email better than any other notetaker. I
say that, realizing it doesn't have a draft folder, and some of
those things.

With great respect, it seems to me that the underlying theme here
is
that several of you are trying to use the BS Plus -- essentialy a
PDA --
as you would a full-bore PC. This is understandable given the
cost of
braille note-takers. But they generally truly do have only the
power of
a PDA. They have all the advantages and also the drawbacks of a
PDA.
They (the braille note-takers) are very good at what they do but
they
function best if the user is knowledgeable about their
limitations.

They accumulate, life happens.
In thinking on the issue I think I'd create multiple small
folders in
the
email program and have a day's worth of mail in each, doesn't
help with
the
total mass but does make loading faster.

I've been testing out the email limits by loading as much as I

program.
At about 3,000 messages the bs+ starts acting up, or at least my

unit does. The inbox is very slow to load, taking 5 to 10
seconds
between
percentages, so overall taking several minutes to load the
entire
inbox.
At
4,000 messages I found it took about 4 to 5 minutes just to load
the
inbox,
and when adding new mail after the mail had been downloaded it
took
what
seemed a long time for the new mail to be intigrated with the
current
list.
Large messages take a minute or two to open, I don't know if
that's
normal
or if it's a result of too much mail. Large being 50k or so.
I found that several messages when opened gave me the dull ding,
but
oddly
enough the unit didn't freeze solid but would allow me to exit
out
of
the
message and go on to something else. Unfortunately it did
freeze up
while I
was saving the inbox after deleting some 600 messages.
So, with this particular machine it appears that 3000 messages
is
about
the
practical limit for the inbox. Not to mention that getting
around
amidst
that many messages and finding anything is a challenge in
itself.
