Hello Brian.
It was not a matter of volume at all, I was out with my GPS and I knew the
battery was getting low.
When it quit, I knew that it was a dead battery and that was no problem.
What the problem was, when I plugged it in, I got this horrible buzzing
sound and I tried everything to reset the unit hoping that would help.
Today, out of the blue, it actually started and I was able to charge the
battery.
I do not know what happened and why the hard drive would not boot up, but it
is working as of this afternoon, and I am so thankful as this is also my GPS
and I am leaving to go to my next training on Saturday, and in all these
communities I do not know, my GPS is very important tool for me.

this might sound kind of dumb but have you tried to turn up the system
volume? this is a possibility that maybe you accidently turned it down
trying to preform another task. it is a slim chance but from the sounds of
things you might have just done something along these lines. to turn the
volume up simply press the back space key along with the F4 key and this
should turn up the system volume if it was infact turnned all the way down
by accident. I hope we can figure this out. good luck.

I used to always have this problem but after a few successful updates it
pretty much quit happening. the first thing I would recommend would be
to
1. plug your VS into the power adaptor,
2. I assume that you already know these things but just from one
forgetful person to possibly another here is a little refresher.
3. once you have successfully done this I would press the soft reset
button
4. if you can manage to get your vs back on the very next thing I would
do is run a system update. (utilities/update/online update) this always
seems to help my vs when I am running into some problems. p.s. just
because it says your firm ware is the latest still run the update.
5. finally here is a little tip. to soft reset the hard ware, the little
button at the top of the vs works. to soft reset the software, so to
speak pressing dot 1 through 6, along with function key 2 and 3 all at
the same time for one to 2 seconds will accomplish this. if none of
these things work, reformatting your vs is pretty much the only
alternitive but I do not think it will have to come to that.

I need help. Last night when I was coming home, I was using Sense Nav
on the voice sense, the battery died, and this morning when I plug it
in, all I get is a static noise.
Can anyone tell me if you have ever experienced this before? How was
it fixed?

Sometimes when using the browser on my Braille Sense plus (and It also
showed up on my Braille Sense Original) I get "edl" on the left of the
line and I can't scroll down anymore. if I hit ENTER, I can them
scroll down, but it skips some things,. If I close my browser I can
usually reopen it and not get this odd thel. So what, does "1edl" mean
and why does it show up sometimes and keep me from reading everything
on a pate when it does show up?
