Joe,
The hbl format is native to the sense products.
brl is just a braille file. Yes, you can type in grade II in a
text file.
The word processor doesn't offer many formatting options that I
am aware of.

Can someone help explain the BRL and HLB file formats? I gather
these are
file types specific to the BSP, but how easily can these be
translated to
Word format? Can one enter tabs into these files and have them
translate?
Finally, is it possible to type in Grade 2 on a text file?
Sorry for the
barrage, but your guys' input is most appreciated.

Hi,
I got my Braille Sense Classic first. Then I got a Braille Note
Classic because I didn't want to carry my baby places.
I found that files on the BN didn't always translate well. I
also found that I couldn't always read files written on the BN
on the BS.
I have found a new home for my BN Classic because the card slot
died.
I like my Braille Sense and Braille Sense Plus much better.
I find it easier to read a file in Grade 2 Braille even if it
is a txt file.
I like the Speech better and I find editing easier.
I also like being able to write something in Braille and then
save it as a txt or doc file. Actually the doc files are rtf.
Technical Support has been great.
The Braille Sense Plus has an sd and a cf slot.
It doesn't crash as much as my Bn Classic with keysoft 7.5.
I also like being able to use it with Bookshare. I guess this
might be possible with the BN.
Person'y, I love the speech. I never used it on the BN unless I
had to.
I also like the fact that there isn't a lot of griping on this
list.
We also have a Company Presence. Raul is very helpful and
responds to questions in a timely manng.
Some of the issues I would have raised have been taken care of
with the Apex such as replaceable batteries.
I hope you find an opportunity to use a Braille Sense.
If you have any questions feel free to write to me off list.
Colleen
P. S. I am not a techie so I can use this anyone can.

Hi,

I just joined this list in order to learn more about the
BrailleSense. I am currently a BrailleNote user, but am
seriously considering replacing my BN with a BrailleSense or
BrailleSense Plus. Due to the fact that I'll be purchasing for
myself, it will take me awhile to save up the money, and I
definitely don't take such a decision lightly. I would be
especially interested in the thoughts of those of you who have
made such a switch. Please understand that I am in no way
interested in any sort of company bashing! I truly want to
know what you like about your BrailleSense or BrailleSense
Plus! If there are any things you don't particularly like, I'd
like to know about those too, but you are more than welcome to
write to me privately at

[email protected]

Thanks so much in advance for any information you're willing
to share with me!
