Don, that happened to me as well. I wound up deleting the contacts on my netbook, and did another synch between the two machines and it worked then. Don't know why it happened, but at least I only had 59 contacts. smile.
The first synch gave me 118 contacts with the information scrambled, but the second time around after deleting all the contacts in Outlook 2007, it came out correctly with the information put into the correct fields.
