Hello Chelsea,

Have a play. I'm afraid I don't have access to any of the software you
mentioned although I believe CoolEdit was once used to record a
Window-Eyes tutorial several years ago.

The best thing you can do is try running Window-Eyes with DAD and
CoolEdit Pro and see what happens. If you can, book some extra time to
yourself in front of the console/machine where DAD is running.
Window-Eyes is naturally very different to any other screen reader,
though probably only in ways people with no direct experience of
working with screen readers cannot understand. Since you will be using
both Window-Eyes and DAD, the more time you can spend trying them out,
the better.

Hopefully you have access to Window-Eyes 7.0. If not, you may find it
worth your while either obtaining it yourself, or else trying to
convince those responsible for its deployment in your environment to
go ahead and order it. Should scripting prove necessary, you will only
be able to take advantage of it with Window-Eyes 7.0.

However so far, speaking as one with a little knowledge of scripting
with Window-Eyes, I have only found the need to use scripts at all in
one or two applications.

Let us know how you get on or if there's anything else we can do to help.

Good luck!

Darren
