as far as windows mail is concerned the focus problem is there even with no 
screen reader running and at this point control y will not bring up any list of 
folders until you get focus in the program. then this will work. but not until.
w e does put focus to the in box if you have windows mail loaded without speech 
then load w e then the focus will go to the in box. the only way to get focus 
while w e is running is to alt tab in and out of windows mail or left mouse 
click on the inbox window or the list of mail boxes. this is the only way. 
maybe a script would work if it could automatically direct w e focus to the in 
box when it is loaded?

Also last time I tried Windows Live Mail there was issues with it as well.
