OK; thanks. I may proceed with my idea of trying to write a global script that
will allow the translation table to be switched by app.

Jay,

The translation table is a global setting as are a few other braille settings
but most are set specific.

Stephen,

Thanks for the feedback. I tried setting the table under mso.000 to US English
and saving that but it changed the table setting in all apps to US English. I
then tried opening the eclipse.000 set file and changing the table to my own
custom one and saving that but it also changes the table for all apps. It seems
like the settings under the the Options dialog are app specific but the
settings in the Translation table dialog are global.

Jay,

I'm pretty sure all braille settings, including the active translation table,
are application specific. You should be able to set your preferences in Outlook
and Eclipse, save their respective set files, and be good to go.

Best regards,
Steve

Before I go writing a script for this, just wanted to ask if my observation
that the active Braille translation table setting is global is correct? I want
to be able to switch between the US English table and my own custom table
between applications. For example, when in Office Outlook, I'd like to use the
US English table with grade 2 turned on but when in Eclipse, I'd prefer my
custom table with grade 2 turned off.

Thoughts???
