if you had converted the html email to ascii text it would have worked ok.
the link shown to you on screen, wasn't actually the link the html email was
setup to use (html email can do this kind of trick).

I couldn't get the patch directly from Outlook 2007 either.  I went the long
way around the barn and got it with no problem from the links beginning at
gwmicro.com/support.
I have gotten somewhat used to Outlook, but it definitely works in
mysterious ways some of the time<grin>.
