hi Chip: OK try the following: 1. go to the menubar of whatever application you are in. 2. Arrow down to Save or Save As, just for the sake of argument. 3. Press insert-numpad + which will say "route pointer to menu". 4. Compare the position of the pointer and the position of the highlight and note that the position of the highlight and the position of the mouse are not equal.. Kevin Huber
